STORYLINE

The indigenous Maring tribes of Papua Island have lived for 10000 years according to the cultural ways of their ancestors and in perfect harmony with the natural environment. Instead of conquering each other’s lands and unifying themselves into countries, they preferred to maintain a circular equilibrium of people, tradition and resources.

You will play one of the Tribes, struggling to maintain balance in times of globalization, which threatens to throw you off the scale.

This is a board game for 4 players and around 3 hours of playtime. It’s based on academic research by Roy Rappaport (Pigs for the Ancestors, 1968, New Haven: Yale University Press) and you will find plenty of anthropological details in the storyline, while on the overall level, the Game tackles modern topics of Degrowth, Circular Economy and Deep Ecology.
