TIME TO LAND – Doughnut World Simulation Game
🌎 TIME TO LAND is a big-scale facilitated experience for up to 30 players who will either turn the human civilization back on sustainable track or dive even deeper towards social collapse.
.
💡 Complex economical phenomena are portrayed by simple decision steps in front of the players, mixing resource management with role-playing elements and task division. Creativity and out of the box thinking might be needed to succeed.
.
⌛ Time pressure and narrative dilemmas may raise up the emotions during around 90 minutes of the gameplay, which is later resolved by in-depth reflection, combining personal experience of the players and revealed strategic patterns with the principles of Doughnut Economics.
STATE OF DEVELOPMENT
.
The idea of the TIME TO LAND originated in summer 2025, since then the game grows and evolves along the testing events. The game is currently printed in 3 copies that exist in Kraków, Paris and Bresov. The game is ready to be played as long as the facilitators lead it personally. In the near future we intend to expand the pool of facilitators and printed copies.
.
Creation of online, hybrid and children versions is considered, but will not start before 2027. You are welcome to invite our team to bring the Game to your event, contact us through any media, we’re open to discuss details.

.
This is a complex game and organizing it on your own without introduction training would be close to impossible even if you have all materials in PDFs.
.
You are welcome to contact the Designers if you want to invite us to run the game for you or learn how to run it by yourself. This is a non-profit venture and we are happy to see the game used!
.
BECOME A FACILITATOR
.
The first opportunity to become a facilitator of TIME TO LAND is to join in-person training course Climate Wizards #4. The course is free of costs, financed by the Erasmus Program, we organize it in non-profit spirit, using the existing funding framework to share the game.
.
This will be a pilot, we intend to open up more opportunities for Time To Land facilitators in 2027.
.
On the place, one of the working groups will be dedicated to the TIME TO LAND game, together during 5 seminar days we will update selected elements of the Game and then craft by hand physical copies from half-ready materials.
.
HOW TO GET THERE?
.
- Sign up for the Training Course (link above), mentioning in the form that you want to join the Time To Land working group.
- Wait for the confirmation from the organizers and fulfill all following registration and travel procedures.
- Prepare – read at least two books connected: Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth and another relevant expert book of your choice.
- Prepare – browse the existing games related to doughnut economics, sustainability or social justice, make notes what are their strong and weak points, what’s missing and what’s working the best.
.
The first prototype of the game was published as:
CRUSH OR CRUSH – The Doughnut Game
.
After following test runs we have decided to wait a bit longer, as the game is getting bigger and it seems no longer possible that someone who has not played it can just download the design docs and organize it
.
We are very open to contact and collaboration, please let us know if you want to play it when the next opportunity comes or invite Nausika to visit your event and run the game there!
