Nausika was established to design, promote, and implement educational games for personal development and social transformation.

AIMS

  • preparing the society to the challenges connected with climate change,
  • empowering the teachers with tools for meaningful education, 
  • supporting local communities in sustainable development, 
  • cultivating critical thinking and understanding above differences.

OUTPUTS

  • narrative games (RPG, LARP, storytelling, simulation), 
  • strategic games (board and card games, big-scale serious games) 
  • customized training programs for teachers, youthworkers and teaching institutions.

ACTIVITIES

.

Our crew consists of relatively young people who agree on the principle of life-long learning. Our strategy is focused on experiment, development and challenging the routine. The team is project-based and international connections are our strong suite.

.

On the European level, we are designing and leading various mobilities and training courses, tangling the topics of climate change and migration, sustainable development, deep ecology, soft skills, group dynamics and mental health.

.

On the local level, we are organizing soft-skills workshops, training courses and seminars for educators in Kraków, as well as supporting local youth initiatives and grass-root movements in their struggle for a better future.

The Board

Zbigniew Janczukowicz

Teacher of philosophy and ethics by education, NGO manager and accountant by profession, game designer and permaculture gardener by passion. Founder of Nausika Educational Foundation. Hobbies: chess variants, ethnic board games, larp-chess crossover. In rare moments of free time, he’s building a house in the mountains, where he dreams to retire, grow vegetables and entertain international guests.

Patrycja Paula Gas

Anthropologist, lecturer, trainer, tutor, mentor, project manager, educational program designer, youth worker, eduLarp designer. My expertise lies in diversity and culture competence training courses, which I constantly develop as a member of the trainer’s group SIETAR Polska. Author of a book "The Dayaks - free people of Borneo" (Jagiellonian University Press, 2017) which is based on two years research in Indonesia.

Antonios Triantafyllakis

"Playful Learning Architect" (he made this title up) with two decades of experience in international youth work, helping organisations drive social and environmental impact through experiential learning. He has worked with over 40 organisations, training more than 2,000 individuals across three continents on 21st-century skills. His work bridges gamification with sustainability, equipping purpose-driven organisations to achieve impact through playful and experiential approaches. Passionate about fostering a world of equal rights and opportunities where diverse, active citizens work towards an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable future. European Climate Pact Ambassador. Coordinator of the award-winning Climate For All project. Certified facilitator of a wide variety of games and designer of a few more.

Ana-Maria Gătejel

Food researcher, moved by an unsatiable curiosity to explore food in all shapes, forms and meanings, from ecological connection, political identity, material stuff, bodily nourishment, carrier of culture and memory, signifier of status and identity. I discovered games while researching citizen engagement in food sharing in the CULTIVATE project at Wageningen University (2023-2025). Co-founder of Colectiva Regenerație educational NGO based in Brasov, Romania (2024), aspiring facilitator and game enthusiast. Born and raised in Romania, always on the move.

Vivien Farkas

Game designer, passionate about bringing stories to life and creating immersive experiences. With a background in game and LARP (Live Action Role-Play) design, she excels in crafting narratives that captivate people. She creates games mostly for educational purposes, using the power of roleplay to help people build soft skills and enhance self-improvement. Lead game designer at the Climate for All project, which was also her introduction into international youth work. Author of several chamber LARPs, she loves fantasy, horror, political satire, and historical themes, but also thrives in genres like educational content, comedy and sci-fi. She's also a birdwatcher and music lover.

Cathy Li

A practitioner-researcher, designer, and facilitator of social and sustainable good, Cathy builds the playgrounds where participatory regeneration and collective intelligence take root. By decoding, developing, and facilitating the interplay between complex challenges and diverse groups of actors, she fosters cross-sector collaborative learning environments that resonate and scale deep. She works closely with organizations and local communities worldwide, as well as fellow lives like apes and fungi. Founder of Knot to Play, one of her initiatives, focused on nurturing futures literacy through transformative play. A lifelong player and enthusiast of ruins, maps, and folk games.

Bambang Trihadmojo

Bambang serves as a Climate Adviser to Nausika. He is a scholar-activist with expertise in behavioral change, climate finance, action, and justice. He applies research to link local climate initiatives with global climate goals. His work draws on professional experience across think tanks, MDBs, and environmental NGOs. He has contributed to the design of climate initiatives in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific. He brings these regional perspectives to the global stage as a member of the Republic of Indonesia’s delegation to COP30.
