THE IDEA
„Portal Project” was our first step on the field of adult education.
The twist of the Project was to explore the hidden layers of education, learning and personal development in larp games which do not bear an „EDU” prefix in the title.
We were linked by the passion to LARP (live action role playing) and belonging to an informal Portal Larp Community, which has organized international Larp Conventions since 2012 in South-Eastern Europe.
After two years of meeting and working together, we feel much confident as larp designers to provide adult players with meaningful tools of life-long learning through playing fictional characters in narrative worlds.
ATHENS LTT
5-9 September 2021
25 participants from Poland, Hungary, Croatia and Bulgaria came to Greece for 4 days of workshops, skill exchange, nano larp jams and game testing in the Vault Theatre Plus – for the first time we met in-person and it was amazing!

BUDAPEST TPM
Management deals, larp design workshops with Tibor Kiss, creation of the Name Day Larp, exploring Budapest, archery training, a day long walking larp in the forest with the Hungarian larp community – it couldn’t be better. We called it „Portal 9 and 3/4”.
ZAGREB TPM
Larp writing sessions, evening larps, discovering urban games from the inside with Enigmarium, lunches at the Terrible Creations Lair, project updates, long discussion what „education” really is… It was a pleasure to meet in Croatia between the Portals!
KRAKOW LTT

4 days of workshops and games in Scena Supernova – an alternative theatre which welcomed us to work on larps. Outdoor games, blackbox games, mystery games. Tarot characters. Larp summer camps. Mixing, thinking, designing.

Final meeting, serious evaluation, climbing the hills, talking about the future. The last project meeting happened in Bulgaria, but it’s not the end of Portal, on the contrary, Portal 11 is coming to Budapest, be aware, 16-18 June 2023 !
